Learn the basics of cooking with Once Upon a Thyme Instructors in a five-day series from June 17th – 21st from 9:30-1:00pm.

Each day will focus on a new country!  We’ll discuss different cultures while preparing new dishes and eating the creations. It will be an adventure of tastes and textures and everyone is sure to learn so many new things about flavors, both differences and similarities.  This is a hands on class and kids will be cooking with supervision.

Tuesday- Italy

Wednesday – India

Thursday – Germany

Friday – China

Kombucha is a fermented black or green tea, commonly used for health benefits, but there is so much more to it! Join us in our kitchen and learn how to make a tasty kombucha, along with simple syrups you can use in your cocktails or kombucha at home. Participants will take home their own starter. This is a great intro class on a subject that might seem a little scary – but it really isn’t!

Learn the basics of food photography with local professional photographer Katie Blauser of Blink of an Eye Photography. Through the assembly of a beautiful charcuterie board, Katie will discuss  how to style and photograph food including lighting tricks and how to use color. Check out her Instagram @eatprettydarling for inspiration.  Attendees will have the opportunity to assemble their own board to enjoy and photograph their creations. All you need to bring is your own phone or camera.

Katie Blauser is the mama of two boys with a third on the way, wife of a picky eater, and photographer at Eat Pretty Darling. She believes in making food fun, healthy, & pretty! Katie’s not only outnumbered by boys in her little family, but also by picky eaters. She loves trying to find new ways to get both kids and adults to eat healthy while making food pretty yummy, pretty healthy, and pretty fun!

Jennifer Jones, our local Pampered Chef Director, will be giving great tips and tricks for this fun kitchen appliance! She’ll be making Barbecue Root Beer Ribs, Multi-grain Bread, and Strawberry Cheesecake.

Week 2 (3/5):  Homemade vegetable stock; The art of the sauce; Mac and Cheese – taking it up a notch

Week 3 (3/12):  Foolproof formulas – Soups, salads and family meals
