Do you love to cook and try new foods? This just might be the event for you! Cookbook Club is a lot like a conventional bookclub, but with a twist. Bring your favorite dish to share with the rest of the group! We’ll talk about the book and the recipes while enjoying an evening of really good food. Cookbook Club will meet every other month on the first Sunday evening.

March’s selection is “Milk Street: The New Rules ” by Christopher Kimball. This book promises recipes that are sure to change the way you cook! It’s a playbook for the new chef, as well as the seasoned chef who feels a bit stuck in a rut. Fun recipes include Vietnamese Chicken Salad, Indian-Spiced Potatoes and Peas, and Mexican Wedding Stew.

Join us in the bookshop kitchen with Hillary Needham! She’ll be talking chicken and what to do with it! She’ll start at the beginning, with how to cook a whole chicken and walk attendees through three different meals, Chicken and Noodles, Chicken Fried Rice, and White Chicken Enchiladas. She’ll also give you a few other ideas of dinners and give great tips (including the best way to freeze and thaw) along the way.

This month our menu will be from Caroline Wright’s Twenty Dollar, Twenty Minute Meals. We’ll be making a tossed salad, carrot ginger soup, baked butter beans in honeyed oregano tomato sauce with feta and pita, and toasted brioche with Meyer lemon curd and black peppered berries. Who doesn’t love Christmas Cookies? During our December Kids in the Kitchen, we’ll be decorating fun sugar cookies with lots of icings, sugars, and sprinkles. Each person will get 6 cookies to decorate and take home! Drop in any time between 1 and 3pm on December 21 to decorate your cookies.

All ages welcome!

Local Pampered Chef Director Jennifer Jones is back in our kitchen and we’ll be having holiday fun with gingerbread! Families will all receive a gingerbread house to decorate with all the trimmings and will get to take home a Pampered Chef cookie mold (valued at $12.50; pictured below)! All ages open for this family class.
